The Sound of Music with Gretl

We are pleased to announce the upcoming production of The Sound of Music with Gretl – written and performed by Melanie Parr

Saturday 8 October at the Village Hall

A truly unique and fun evening of Songs, Anecdotes and Theatrical Nostalgia with Melanie Parr (the original Gretl).

Melanie has enjoyed a long and varied career in the theatre and on TV, working with Sammy Davis Jnr, Dudley Moore, Harry Enfield to mention a few, but most residents of Ixworth will know her best as Mary Parr’s daughter!

Written and performed by Melanie, marking the 50th anniversary of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, this spell-binding one-woman show tells the true story of how a little girl, living quietly on a farm, became the smallest Von Trapp in the original West End production of the Sound of Music.

The show is full of anecdotes and songs, from the Sound of Music and other musical favourites, and will appeal to all who love the Musical Theatre! Encounters with Noël Coward, Richard Rodgers and real Maria Von Trapp gave her the most extraordinary childhood.

Date: Saturday, 8 October
Venue: Ixworth Village Hall, 8pm
Tickets: £8 (£7.50 if pre-booked)
