Quay School Dance at Ixworth Village Hall

The Quay School of Theatre Dance is a warm and friendly school offering classes in Ballet, Tap and Modern/Jazz and Street.  Weekly lessons are held in Sudbury, Acton and Ixworth. We accept pupils from the age of three, and also offer classes for adults in Tap and Ballet.

All teachers are qualified members of The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and hold a DBS check. Our school offers pupils the chance to take exams, attend annual summer schools and appear in shows; as well as taking part in well-structured but enjoyable classes. We are proud to offer a fun, safe and caring environment.  Our aim is for pupils to grow in confidence and to develop poise, co-ordination and social skills whilst learning basic life principles such as good manners, behaviour, discipline, and self-respect.

Classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays at The Village Hall in Ixworth. Pupils are accepted from the age of 3 for Ballet, Modern & Tap; and children aged 6 and over can attend weekly Street Dance sessions.

We offer Adult Tap classes on Monday evenings, and Adult Ballet sessions take place on Tuesday mornings. Research often puts dance ahead of other physical activities in the variety of health benefits that it brings.  Tap and Ballet are also very social pursuits, and a dance class can be a great place to meet new people with a passion and a joy for life.  Whether you’re an experienced dancer, have briefly dabbled, or are a complete novice, please do come along for a trial session.  We welcome learners of all ages and abilities.
